Hiding Bedhead: First Ever REMOTE #coffeeEDU Google Hangout in the books/on YouTube

This morning Craig Yen and I set up a Google Hangout so that #NotatISTE folks could check out Alice Keeler’s amazing #ISTE2016 #coffeeEDU sessions.

This was a first-time ever sort of deal- idea came to me when I realized that missing #ISTE2016 meant missing Alice’s #coffeeEDU. So I decided to videoconference my way in and use my friend Craig as my “keeper”.

Mistakes were made.
I started the Hangout and then ended it, which forced me to create a new event. D’oh. Had to send out the new link to everyone.
Wifi was spotty, so everything kept cutting in and out.
No one could hear me, and it was hard to hear them.
When I reflected on WHY I was doing this, I remembered that it was just to give people an idea of what a #coffeeEDU at #ISTE is like; spreading the #coffeeEDU mission, so to speak, one viewer at a time. (Check out the #coffeeEDU website: http://www.coffeeedu.org/)
Craig and I will work on changes sometime today- he’s busy and, well, as I’ve mentioned before, I’m at home and have kids to get to activities, laundry to fold, and meals to plan. We’ll be having another #notatcoffeeEDU tomorrow! Here’s the link for tomorrow’s event: https://plus.google.com/events/c30ncldiftuml4m3ifpm3b2989o Join us at 6am MOUNTAIN time tomorrow and Wednesday.
In the meantime, check out what happened today:

  1. I was watching live and was happy to participate. I would love it if the Q&A feature was enabled. I am not sure the Google HOA is the best platform for a #coffeeEDU. The @AmazonEDU Periscope of the event was easier to interact with and hear.
